BRIEF: Six Skiers Join Sun Valley Hall of Fame

The Ketchum/Sun Valley Historical Society on Wednesday announced its inductees into the 2013 Ski Hall of Fame. Picabo Street, Jack Reddish and Bob Smith will be inducted into the Sun Valley Alpine Hall of Fame, and Rick Kapata, Muffy Ritz and Bob Rosso into the Nordic Hall of Fame.
The public is invited to the induction ceremony, at 4 p.m. Jan. 30 at the NexStage Theater, 120 Main St. in Ketchum. Tickets are $25, available 1-4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays at the Ketchum/Sun Valley museum in Forest Service Park, at First Street and Washington. Each ticket includes appetizers and one drink.
The annual Hall of Fame event honors outstanding past and present local skiers and focuses on the long history of skiing in Sun Valley.
"I have always considered myself a Sun Valley skier," Olympic gold medalist Picabo Street said in the society's release. "Sun Valley's mountains -- Dollar and Baldy -- made me the skier I am. I thank my community for this acknowledgement. I am truly honored."
