RCA qualifies for Super Six stage of SCC T20 Championships

Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA) scored comfortable wins over Riyadh Cricket League (RCL) and Eastern Province Cricket Association (EPCA) in first round matches to book their places in the Super League stage of the Saudi Cricket Center National T20 Championships.
In the first match RCA beat RCL comprehensively by the margin of 4 wickets. After winning the toss, RCL made first use of the pitch but got off to a disastrous start when they lost a wicket in the first over.
However, Kamran (46) and Faheem (31) steadied the innings. Later, Asad Khan's unbeaten 51 propped up the score and RCL put on board 194 for 5 off their allotted 20 overs. Imtiaz Butt took 2 wickets while Abdul Salam got 1.
In reply, RCA were stunned by the fall of two quick wickets in the first over and kept on losing wicket at regular intervals. It was left to Abdul Wahid, who stood firm and held the innings together and scored a match winning unbeaten 139 off 62 balls. Abdul Salam (18) and Nadeem Babar (13) provided good support. Jameel Khan got 3 wickets.
RCA achieved their target in the17the over for the loss of 6 wickets.

In the second match of the preliminary round, RCA struggle to beat EPCA by 7 runs in a closely fought encounter which saw fortunes fluctuating throughout the match.
EPCA won the toss and elected to field first. RCA lost the wicket of the century maker of the previous match Abdul Wahid early in the innings when his individual score was 15. Abdul Wahab and Zeeshan Haider played well for RCA and scored 60 and 42 respectively. Nadeem Babar and Omar were the other notable contributors with 24 and 22 runs. Nasir Khan of EPCA took 3 wickets off 3 consecutive balls. Asif Mughal also bowled well and bagged 3. RCA totaled 200 for 8 off 20 overs.
Chasing a stiff target of 201, EPCA openers started well, but lost their way in the middle. Waseem Malik top-scored with 50 runs. Munawar (41) and Khawar (37) were the other contributors.
Zeeshan and Muzaffar bowled well for RCA and took 2 wickets each. Abdul Wahid and Kamran Hadi chipped in with a wicket each. EPCA managed 193 for 6

A large number of spectators came to the RCA grounds to watch these thrilling T20 matches. After the matches, RCA captain and CEO Nadeem Babar said that the RCA team is in great form and is one of the favorites to the win the National T20 Championship. RCA Patron, Mohamed Anwar and President Tariq Javed congratulated the RCA team for their wonderful victory. RCA team will visit Jeddah for Super Six stage of the SCC National T20 Championship.
