Opelika-Auburn News Bridal Expo on Sunday
Jan 12, 2013 (Opelika-Auburn News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Those looking for exciting ideas for their upcoming wedding are now in luck.
The 2013 Opelika-Auburn News Bridal Expo will be Sunday at the Marriott Auburn Opelika Hotel and Conference Center at Grand National from 1 to 4 p.m. The event is presented by Intrigue Jewelers.
Tickets will be $8 at the door.
Brian Endfinger, special projects coordinator for the OA News, said January is normally a busy month for couples planning for their wedding day, so the expo serves as a good way to accommodate those who don't know what they are looking for in their wedding.
"We're going to have many wedding providers in the area in one spot so that brides and their families can get a feel for what's available and be able to talk face to face with different vendors so that they can plan their wedding," Endfinger said, adding that response has been very positive over the last few years.
There will be over 36 vendors available for questions at the expo, as well as four different bridal shops, including Bridals by Penolia, David's Bridal, Monkee's and Men's Wearhouse.
There will also be fashion show that will be held in a tent set outside the Marriott from 1:30 to 3 p.m. During and after the show, there will also be a number of door prizes available, including a two-night weekend getaway deal to Callaway Gardens, a photo package from Flip Flop Foto, a four-day cruise from Intrigue Jewelers and a bridal makeup package from Nancy Dunson.
The expo serves as the primary source of funding for the OA News' Newspapers in Education program, which supplies over 3,000 daily newspapers to over 30 area schools during the school year. Last year's event raised roughly $15,000 for NIE.
