BRIEF: Pizza delivery man robbed
MERIDIAN, Jan 12, 2013 (The Meridian Star - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Detectives with the Meridian Police Department are searching for a man they say robbed a pizza delivery man.
Capt. Dean Harper, commander of the department's Criminal Investigation Division, said Friday that at about 8 p.m. Thursday, a pizza delivery person was taking an order to the Azalea Park Apartments located at 803 29th St., when the delivery person was approached by a lone gunman. The gunman took an undisclosed amount of cash from the delivery person and then fled on foot.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 6 feet tall and weighing around 180 pounds. The suspect was said to have been wearing a gray suit jacket and dark pants. Harper said the victim told police the suspect was also wearing a bandana to hide his face. The victim was unhurt in the incident.
In an unrelated case, police Thursday arrested 29-year-old Ursula Renee Naylor of Meridian and charged her with aggravated assault.
Harper said this arrest stemmed from a warrant in connection to an assault that reportedly occurred in July of 2011 at Eastern Gardens. Harper said Naylor is thought to be one of several people who seriously beat the victim with their fists and feet. No bond was assessed in Naylor's case.
