EDITORIAL: To vaccinate or not?
Jan 13, 2013 (San Bernardino County Sun - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
We've stated our opinion on parents' responsibility to have their children vaccinated for dangerous diseases. Now it's your turn to weigh in.
Help readers and public officials understand what can be done to better protect kids and communities from whooping cough, Hepatitis B and the measles by breaking through some parents' irrational fears of side effects from inoculations.
What do you think
If you haven't had your children vaccinated, why not Do you think parents who avoid vaccinations are acting within their rights
Is California on the right track with a new law, due to take effect next year, making it harder for parents to opt out Have officials done enough to convince people inoculations are safe What further education measures could make a difference
Is a public education campaign enough, or should the state enact laws forcing vaccinations
Post your responses in the comments section below or email them to opinion@langnews.com. Please include your full name, the community or city in which you live and a daytime phone number for verification (we won't print that). We'll publish the responses online and print as many of them as we can in the paper next Sunday.
