The Fraser Institute: Media Advisory; Report Comparing Performance of Provincial Health Care Systems Coming Tuesday, January 15
CALGARY, ALBERTA, Jan 14, 2013 (Marketwire via COMTEX) --
The Fraser Institute, Canada's leading public policy think-tank, will release a report comparing the cost and quality of public health care in all provinces on Tuesday, January 15 at 6:30 a.m. (Eastern).
Provincial Health Care Index 2013 compares the per-capita cost of provincial health care systems to the availability and quality of medical goods and services in each province. The report measures 46 performance indicators comprising availability of resources, timeliness, volume of services provided, and clinical performance using publically available data from 2010 (or the most recent year available).
"This study offers citizens and policymakers an opportunity to determine how well their provincial health care system is performing relative to the rest of Canada," said Nadeem Esmail, Fraser Institute Director of Health Policy Studies.
