BRIEF: ICT sector revenues in Azerbaijan increased by almost 16 per cent in 2012

In 2012, organisations and the population in Azerbaijan were provided information and communication services to a total amount of 1.4 billion manat, or 15.9 per cent more than the same period in 2011, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee told Trend on Monday.
Some 72.2 per cent of the total volume of services rendered in the ICT area accounted for services rendered to the population.
Some 60.4 per cent of the total volume of revenues accounted for mobile services or 12.2 per cent more than the similar figure in 2011.
In total in 2012, revenues from mobile communication services amounted to 859.9 million manat.
The official exchange rate is 0.7848 manat to $1 on Jan.14.
