BRIEF: Lots remain vacant in Erie business park

When a local economic development agency decided to transform an east Erie junkyard into a business park, Robert Hess saw his chance to expand.
Hess moved his business into the Joyce A. Savocchio Business Park and spent a few thousand dollars to install fiber optic cable, a must for his operation and a huge incentive to any other business looking for a home.
And then he waited for company.
Eight years after the park's dedication, Paragon Print Systems Inc. remains the sole tenant of a project that once hoped to capture as many as 250 jobs.
"We're all alone in here," Hess said.
