Ultimate Training Munitions (UTM) and Phoenix RBT Solutions Unveil the Industry's First Select Fire Rifle Conversion Kit and NLTA at 2013 SHOT Show (Booth #6503)
LAS VEGAS, NV, Jan 15, 2013 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
Ultimate Training Munitions (UTM)/Phoenix RBT Solutions, providers
of a leading non-lethal training system, today announced the launch
of its new UTM select fire rifle conversion kits and 7.62mm
non-lethal training ammunition (NLTA) as well as its latest personal
protective equipment (PPE). The expanded product line is now on
display at the annual SHOT Show at the Sands Expo and Convention
Center in booth #6503.
UTM 7.62mm Conversion Kits and NLTA
In keeping with its commitment
to lead the industry in developing the best training weapon systems
for military, law enforcement and professional training
organizations, UTM has developed a new conversion kit for the Heckler
& Koch HK417 select fire battle rifle. Once the rifle is converted to
a training weapon, which can be done by simply removing the live bolt
and inserting the UTM 100 percent fail safe conversion bolt, it
cannot fire live ammunition -- due to its 3mm offset firing pin. When
the rifle is converted it will only fire UTM's new 7.62mm NLTA. The
7.62mm round is available in the company's popular Man Marker Round
(MMR), Battlefield Blank Round (BBR) and Silent Blank Round (SBR).
UTM also offers conversion solutions for the widely used AK-47. New
7.62mm NLTA is available in 39mm and 51mm lengths. As in the widely
heralded 5.56mm, the 7.62mm MMR achieves an average muzzle velocity
of 375 feet per second.
"With more and more 7.62mm select fire rifles being used in live
theater it's critical that we have new training solutions in place to
ensure proficiency with all service weapons," said Steve Didier,
co-CEO of Phoenix RBT Solutions. "UTM/Phoenix RBT Solutions has
become synonymous with reality-based training and this new 7.62mm
conversion kit and NLTA will further enhance realism during
force-on-force and force-on-target training drills and scenarios."
In response to the increased desire to incorporate crew-served
weapons into the training paradigm, the company plans to release its
new 7.62 conversion kit and NLTA for M240B machine guns later this
year.
New PPE
At the Show, UTM/Phoenix will also showcase its new
facemask, which features a molded goggle frame with Revision's Desert
Locust goggle lens. The high performance OcuMax(R) coating on the
lens prevents fogging and scratching, ensuring unprecedented visual
clarity. The optically correct goggle lenses are engineered to
maximize field-of-view and safety. The updated facemask allows for
better ventilation by reducing heat retention through the nosepiece.
The mask is more comfortable and the new molded goggle frame provides
enhanced eye protection for the end user.
In addition to the facemask, other items on display in booth #6503
will include Phoenix's portable training facility (PTF) and various
combatives equipment for fitness, physical techniques and
reality-based training exercises, such as strike pads, a heavy bag,
focus mitts and mats.
