TORONTO, Jan. 15, 2013 /CNW/ - Shaw Media's unsurpassed roster of original productions received much deserved
honours at this morning's Canadian Screen Awards press conference. Shaw
Media received a total of 86 nominations for the March 3rd awards ceremony in Toronto.
"Shaw Media's robust slate of original programming has experienced an
incredible year, and to see our team and our independent production
partners recognized for their excellent work makes it that much more
celebratory," said Barbara Williams, Senior Vice President, Content for Shaw Media. "Through a tremendous amount of drive, persistence and imagination, we

writing and performances."
Shaw Media dominated 10 of this year's categories with Global taking 30nominations, Specialty receiving 44 and Global News honoured with a
record number of 12 nominations. Key highlights include Global's
massive hit Bomb Girls, leading with 7 nominations including Best Dramatic Series and Best Performance by an Actress in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role. A strong performer every year, Rookie Blue followed closely with 5 of its own nominations. In addition to
dominating the Best Lifestyle Program or Series category with 4 nominations, Shaw Media clearly established its digital
clout in the increasingly critical Best Cross-Platform Project-Fiction category with 4 out of 5 nominations.
This is a record breaking year for Global News, which received 12 nominations. Canada's news powerhouse dominated the Best News Anchor category with 3 out of 5 nominations and Global National was honoured
with nominations in the Best National Newscast and Best Breaking Reportage, National categories. It was also a record breaking year for investigative news
magazine program, 16 x 9, which received 4nods for the 2013 awards.
