Freescale Semiconductor Assigned Patent

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 17 -- Freescale Semiconductor, Austin, Texas, has been assigned a patent (8,354,879) developed by Mukesh Bansal, Cheeka, India, Kumar Abhishek, Ghaziabad, India, and Shubhra Singh, Noida, India, for a "power switch for decreased ramp rate."
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "A power switch for an integrated circuit provides a stepped profile supply potential. A supply potential generation block generates the stepped profile output supply to control the ramp rate of the output in order to prevent a false trigger of electrostatic discharge at the pads of the integrated circuit."
