Robins Regional Chamber introduces new chairman; presents awards

WARNER ROBINS -- The 63rd annual meeting of the Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce held Thursday was an opportunity for the chamber to introduce its new chairman and hand out awards.
About 260 people attended the gathering held at the Museum of Aviation.
"We are going to support the base at all costs," said incoming Chamber Chairman Randy Randall. "We are going to focus on improving the business environment. We are going to work with the school system ... and we are going to continue to reach out to Macon."
Randall is vice president of business development for Progressive Consulting Technologies Inc., an engineering, information technology and analytical services company that works with government agencies and commercial companies.
The Charlie L. Jones Memorial Award was given to Sonny Watson, chairman of the Houston Healthcare System. The award is given to "the community's most outstanding citizen for sustained and superior service to the community," and it was presented to Watson by state Rep. Larry O'Neal, R-Bonaire.

-- Sherrill Stafford Good Government Service: Mayor Jimmy Faircloth, City of Perry; Mayor John Harley, city of Centerville; Mayor Chuck Shaheen, city of Warner Robins
-- A.C. "Dick" Walden III Chamber Person of the Year: Fritz Marggraff, Progressive Consulting Technologies Inc.
