Vauxhall's new Adam supermini hits road - and you could win one [Derby Evening Telegraph (England)]
(Derby Evening Telegraph (England) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) THE Pentagon Vauxhall dealership in Derby is unveiling the brand's exciting new Adam supermini at a special showcase night on Thursday.
The event, which starts at the Pentagon Island showrooms at 5pm, is part of a roadshow to introduce the city car.
The Vauxhall Adam is heading out on a tour of Pentagon dealerships - there is also one in Burton - ahead of its official launch next month. And visitors and guests will have a chance on the night to enter a competition to win a version of the car worth Pounds 12,500.
New car sales manager at the city dealership Matt Sproat said: "I have seen the car and I am excited for the rest of our staff and our customers to have a look at it.
"The Adam is a fun car that will have wide appeal because of the number of choices people will have when it comes personalising it."
Pentagon says personalisation is what this urban-chic model is all about and with almost limitless trim and equipment combinations, every new Adam driver can specify a truly unique car.
The three-door, four-seater supermini - pitched against the MINI, Fiat 500 and Citroen DS3 - has 20 different wheel designs, more than a dozen interior shades and 12 different body colours, many of unique to ADAM, including "Purple Fiction", "I'll be Black" and "Men in Brown".
It will initially be offered with three petrol engines (1.2- litre 70PS, 1.4-litre 87PS and 1.4-litre 100PS), all of which are available with start/stop technology. The most economical Adam will achieve a combined 56.5mpg and CO2 figure of just 118g/km.
IntelliLink, Vauxhall's new infotainment system, has its debut in the Adam, bringing smartphone capabilities into the vehicle on a seven-inch, high-resolution touch-screen display.
Connectivity is provided via USB or Bluetooth for mass storage devices, including MP3 players, iPod, iPad, etc.
Another debut for the Adam is the Advanced Park Assist II - never seen before in a Vauxhall production car - which automatically steers into a parking space, with the driver only needing to control the brake, clutch and gears.
People can order their Adam now and prices range from Pounds 11,255 for the Adam Jam, moving up to Pounds 12,650 for Adam Glam and Pounds 13,150 for Adam Slam. All models are available at launch with Vauxhall's four years' 0% APR flexible finance offer.
Like all other Vauxhalls, it comes with the industry-leading Lifetime Warranty, which provides a lifetime of cover for first owners, up to a maximum 100,000 miles. Pentagon marketing director James Reeve said: 'The Adam will clearly be the most flexible car in its class, with 61,000 exterior variations and 82,000 different ways to 'design' the interior. Whoever orders an Adam at Pentagon can be pretty certain they won't see an identical car on the road."
People can make appointments to see the Adam at the Derby dealership or just turn up on the night. Further information on Freephone 0800 085 7296 or visit www.pentagon-vauxhall.co.uk.
