BRIEF: El Paso's Transtelco expands network into Mexico [El Paso Times, Texas]
(El Paso Times (TX) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Jan. 18--El Paso's Transtelco has completed construction of its fiber-optic network in Mexico City, it announced this week.
The state-of-the-art fiber-optic network will add significant capacity to Mexico City businesses at lower costs and higher capacities, the company reported.
Transtelco will connect Mexico City to its U.S. network via its cross-border fiber networks in McAllen and Laredo, it reported.
"The expansion of Transtelco's network into this critical market allows Transtelco to expand its footprint" in Mexico and in the United States, and to offer new services at competitive rates, Edgar Mosti, vice president of Transtelco's wholesale network services, said in a written statement.
