BRIEF: Police: No signs of foul play in found body
Jan 18, 2013 (Odessa American - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
The body of a male teenager was found Friday morning in a home in the 4800 block of Golder Avenue in Odessa, but Odessa Police stated in a release that no apparent sign of foul play was detected.
Just before 11 a.m., Odessa Police and Fire Rescue responded to a medical call in the 4800 block of Golder Avenue, and when officers arrived, they were advised by medics that the male, around 17 or 18 years old, was deceased, the release said.
As a matter of routine, police respond to calls of unattended deaths and some cases where the cause of death is unclear, said Cpl. Sherrie Carruth, police spokeswoman. That's doesn't mean a death was "suspicious" in a nefarious sense.
The Ector County Medical Examiner's Office will order an autopsy to determine cause of death. The name of the deceased is pending positive identification from the Medical Examiner's Office.
