BRIEF: Search is on for suspect of Royal Oak bank robbery

Jan 19, 2013 (Detroit Free Press - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Police are looking for an armed man who robbed a Royal Oak bank this week and may be a suspect in an earlier bank robbery.

According to Royal Oak police, a man with a handgun demanded money from a teller Tuesday at the Charter One Bank branch at 200 S. Main Street. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said the man matches the description of the person who robbed the PNC Bank branch at 225 S. Main Street on Dec. 26.

The suspect is 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall. He was wearing a black winter hat, black ski mask, black winter jacket, tight stretch pants and athletic shoes.
