BRIEF: Crowds marvel at sheet metal at Cobo Center for 2013 Detroit auto show: 'That is awesome. It's beautiful'
Jan 19, 2013 (Detroit Free Press - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Crowds have descended on Cobo Center for the first public day of the North American International Auto Show.
Still, getting around has been easy enough for the most part, even with large numbers of people gathering around prime exhibits like the new Corvette.
Excitement is palpable.
"That is awesome. It's beautiful," said Dem Glenn, 45, of Portage about the gleaming Dodge Dart Carbon Fire. "That looks just like a black pair of jeans."
Glenn was with her daughter, Grace Peguese, 12; and mother, Mary Glenn, 67, of Taylor. She called the trip to the auto show an off-and-on 20-year tradition. Grace, who said she's been to lots of auto shows, has tastes that run a bit more exotic -- she loves the Maseratis and Ferraris.
The show runs until 10 p.m. today, but no one is admitted after 9 p.m. It wraps up on Jan. 27.
