BRIEF: Scandalous video of torture in Georgian prisons author released

Jan 20, 2013 (Trend News Agency - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- TBILISI, Georgia -- Tbilisi City Court released on bail scandalous video of torture in Georgian prisons author Vladimir Bedukadze. This decision was taken after a petition for the release by the prosecutor's office of Georgia.

Bedukadze was arrested Friday morning after returning to Georgia from Istanbul.

The prosecutor's office believes that Bedukadze is ready to cooperate and intends to provide new data on the persons who are involved in the tortures scandal in Tbilisi Prison No. 8.

It should be noted that former Justice Minister Zurab Adeishvili, who is hiding abroad, is named client of tortures.

Prosecutors hope Bedukadze will help to get new evidence against the former minister.
