Harold E. Hiltz Jr., 72, of North Attleboro, a database manager

Harold E. Hiltz Jr. of North Attleboro, a veteran and database manager, died Wednesday at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was 72.
Born in Boston, Mr. Hiltz was raised and educated in Dedham, where he was a graduate of Dedham High School. He moved to North Attleboro in 1972.
He received a bachelor's degree in business management technology from Northeastern University.
Mr. Hiltz served in the Army.
He began his career at Kendall Co., first in Walpole, then in Boston and Mansfield as the company relocated over the years. At Kendall Co., he was the database manager of technology. He also had been employed in the warranty service department at Cummings Diesel in Dedham for seven years.
Mr. Hiltz enjoyed cooking, especially clam chowder for his family's annual Fourth of July celebration, and gardening.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics games.
Mr. Hiltz is survived by a daughter, Heidi E. Salviati of Attleboro; a son, Eric H. of North Attleboro; his former wife, Sandra L. Jackson of Attleboro; a brother, Loren of Medford; six grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, North Attleboro.
Burial with military honors will be in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro.
