William J. McIntyre, 85, Quincy resident, union shop steward

William J. "Mac" McIntyre of Quincy, a retired union shop steward, died Friday at John Scott Nursing Home in Braintree. He was 85.
Born in Boston, Mr. McIntyre was a resident of Quincy for many years.
He was a proud veteran of the Army.
Mr. McIntyre was a member of Local 12 for more than 40 years. He held the title of shop steward during his career.
He enjoyed building model ships and model trains and also enjoyed gardening.
Husband of the late Rosalyn (Fadden), Mr. McIntyre is survived by four daughters, Marie McMillen of Bow, N.H., Margaret Lahar and Debra Rice, both of Quincy, and Virginia McIntyre of Canton; two sons, William of Groton, and Daniel of Abington; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. Ann's Church in Quincy.
Burial will be in Mount Wollaston Cemetery in Quincy.
