BRIEF: 2 men rob Allentown Gulf station of cash, cheap cigars
Jan 23, 2013 (The Morning Call (Allentown - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Another Allentown gas station was robbed late Tuesday night, this time with two masked men forcing the station employee to the floor, according to police radio reports.
The two robbers entered the Gulf station at 1441 Gordon St. about 11:10 p.m. One of the robbers showed a black handgun and ordered the worker to lie on the floor during the hold-up.
The men took cash, cigarettes and cheap cigars, police said. Police did not immediately disclose information on which way the robbers went.
Both robbers wore dark clothing. One had a red bandanna. The other wore a white masquerade mask.
About 25 minutes earlier, Quakertown police reported a robbery on Juniper Street the borough. That case also involved two robbers, one of them armed. They reportedly left in a car, heading northwest.
In the Lehigh Valley, more than a dozen gas stations have been robbed in the last five months.
