BRIEF: Magazines to be available online at county library
Jan 25, 2013 (The Spokesman-Review - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
The Spokane County Library District is adding online magazines to its collection.
The library is using Zinio for Libraries, the world's largest provider of online magazines, Communications Manager Jane Baker said in a news release. It allows cardholders to access 157 magazine titles online through the Spokane County Library District website, www.scld.org.
Titles will include National Geographic, Car & Driver, Good Housekeeping, The Economist, ESPN Magazine and Esquire.
Zinio for Libraries provides a quick and easy way for cardholders to read their favorite magazines, Baker said. It will also notify readers when new issues of their chosen magazines are available.
Baker said Zinio's "unique digital platform recreates a magazine page-for-page, including highly visual full-color pictures," while adding interactive features and search capability.
