Volunteer Income Tax Assistance volunteers sought in Manatee

Jan 26, 2013 (The Bradenton Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- VITA VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT MANATEE -- The United Way of Manatee County is seeking volunteers willing to invest a few hours each week through mid-April to serve as greeters/screeners or tax preparers as part of the VITA program. Volunteers do not need a financial background; training and certification will be provided.


The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program is specifically designed to help low- and moderate-income working families and individuals file taxes, claim credits and build their assets. Visit www.uwmc.net and click on the volunteer page for a VITA Volunteer Application.

Clickbooth namedtop performer SARASOTA -- Clickbooth, an online marketing company, has been named the No. 1 CPA Network of 2013, according to Revenue Performance magazine.

Each year the magazine conducts the largest research survey in the performance marketing industry and releases rankings of the top CPA networks worldwide.

"This recognition is truly a great honor," said Clickbooth CEO John Lemp.

Image Award entries sought by local PR association SARASOTA -- The Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association is seeking entries into the Image Award competition showcasing the best practices and programs in the field of public relations.

There are four divisions in which to enter: public relations programs defined as a broad-based communications endeavor using two or more public relations tools; printed tools of public relations defined as any printed material used for a public relations purpose, either standing alone or as part of a public relations program; audio/visual/online tools of public relations defined as any online, audio or audio/visual presentation or program that serves a public relations objective; and student projects in public relations. This division is restricted to entries submitted by full- or part-time students enrolled at an accredited Florida university or college.

An awards celebration announcing and honoring the winners will be held April 18 at Selby Gardens. This event will feature guest speaker Jess Reed from Geico speaking on the Geico Gecko mascot and campaign. Entrants do not have to be a member chapter to enter. Guidelines can befound at www.cwcfpra.com. Entries are due at 5 p.m. March 15.

Acupuncture physician expands offerings BRADENTON -- Brian Brader, an acupuncture physician and herbalist at One World Acupuncture, 515 36th St. W., Suite D, has recently expanded his practice to include herbal remedies, supplements, injection therapy and vitamins. Brader focuses his treatment methods around alternative and complementary medicine.
