Police seek male suspect in Metro Bank robbery

Police are looking for a male suspect in Friday's robbery of the Metro Bank at 55 Arsenal Road in Manchester Township.
Bank employees said they saw a man taking photos or video while "milling" outside the building about 2:15 Friday afternoon, according to a news release.
The man then entered the building and waited for a teller. When it was his turn, he walked toward the exit, stopped at the check-writing station and pretended to fill out a banking slip, police said. The man returned to the teller, placed a black diaper bag on the counter and instructed the teller to place an undisclosed amount of money into the bag. He displayed no weapons and did not indicate that he had any, according to the release.
The man fled the bank east on North George Street, travelling through backyards and eventually crossing North George to a wooded area between Frelen Road and Interstate 83, police said.
The suspect is a white male who stands five-foot-five, according to the release. He was seen wearing dark blue jeans, a dark jacket, a black beanie and black gloves.
The York County Sheriff's Department assisted Northern York County Regional Police at the scene. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call 911 or to report a tip at www.nycrpd.org. More photos are available at Northern York Regional's website.
Reporter Friday: Northern York County Regional Police are investigating a robbery of the Metro Bank near Arsenal Road in Manchester Township.
According to 911 dispatches, the bank was robbed at about 2:30 p.m. A weapon was not displayed during the incident.
Police are looking for a white male, standing about 5-foot-5 and wearing a gray and black jacket, according to 911 dispatches.
The suspect fled the area on foot.
