BRIEF: Police investigate robbery, carjacking

Colorado Springs police were investigating a carjacking on the east side of town that was followed by a robbery that involved a similar vehicle.
The carjacking was reported just after 4 p.m. on the 3900 block of Palmer Park Boulevard.
Police were told a short man with a pistol stole a black Subaru wagon at gunpoint. The car had Wyoming plates bearing the number 516561, police said.
About 90 minutes later, a short robber wheeled up to the Joann Fabrics store at 795 Bloomington Street in a black Subaru wagon and pulled a pistol on a clerk before demanding cash. The robber fled.
Police were investigating the crimes and didn't say if they were related.
