No injuries in I-15 single-car rollover
YERMO, Jan 26, 2013 (Desert Dispatch - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
A single-car rollover on Interstate 15 -- one of several incidents to occur in the High Desert on Friday -- slowed afternoon northbound traffic, though no injuries were reported.
At 12:32 p.m., the California Highway Patrol received a call of a crash on the I-15 at Fort Irwin Road, CHP spokesman Adam Croxton confirmed.
A green Toyota Sienna had rolled over toward the right side of the roadway, coming to a stop on its side in a dirt area between the I-15 and Yermo Road.
The CHP, Yermo Community Service Fire District and paramedics from the Marine Corps Logistics Base Fire Department were on scene.
None of the four adult occupants -- three women and a man -- were injured, which Croxton attributed to the fact each was wearing a seat belt.
"Seat belts save lives," he said.
CHP is currently investigating the cause of the crash, which was one of many reported in the area Friday according to the CHP. A car fire was reported on the I-15 near Halloran Springs Road in Baker at 12:50 p.m.
A reported head-on collision on Highway 395 near mile marker 36 in Victorville took the life of one woman and an incident on Rimrock Road and L Street in Barstow, reported at 5:02 p.m., resulted in no injuries. A driver was at 12:03 p.m. when his sedan was crushed in a two-vehicle collision on Village Drive near Powerline Road in Victorville.
