BRIEF: It's a snap! Erie teens, young adults using new smart phone app [Erie Times-News, Pa.]
(Erie Times-News (PA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Jan. 28--Leah and Mya Papucci send goofy, funny photos to friends from their smartphones.
When the teenage sisters send one to their mother, Hope Papucci, during the business day, she'll send them a picture of her tongue sticking out with the message, "Leave me alone. I'm working."
But the Papuccis aren't texting messages and pictures.
They're sending them along via Snapchat, an increasingly popular app among teenagers and young adults with a feature that's like something right out of "Mission: Impossible." The pictures or video will disappear within 10 seconds.
Snapchat, which celebrated its 1 billionth snap Jan. 1 in Times Square, has millions of users -- lofty numbers for an app that launched in September 2011 for iPhone and released a version for the Android platform in October 2012.
