DWI plus Watson woman jailed after threat, drug charge

A town of Watson woman was jailed Sunday with bail set at $1,000 after she allegedly threatened to punch a pregnant woman in the stomach and then drove under the influence of drugs, according to state police.
Carissa G. Blair, 31, of 7124 Loson Road, was arraigned Sunday morning in town of Turin Court on seven charges, and was sent to Lewis County Jail, Lowville. She was charged with aggravated harassment, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, driving while under the influence of drugs, failure to use a designated lane, using a cellphone while driving, violating restrictions on her license and having an obstructed license plate.
Police said the threat was made in a telephone call at about 9:30 p.m. Friday. About 25 hours later, a trooper was at her home to question her about the phone threat when she pulled into her driveway, police said. The trooper suspected she was under the influence of a substance, and took her to the Pulaski state police headquarters to be evaluated by an expert in drug impairment, police said.
Charged with driving while intoxicated:
Michael G. Shelmidine, 44, 21172 County Route 189, Lorraine, was additionally cited with failure to keep right after he was involved in a property damage accident at about 8:40 p.m. Saturday on County Route 91 in the town of Ellisburg, according to state police. No breath test result was listed.
