BRIEF: Webb to lead Grant PUD
EPHRATA, Jan 28, 2013 (The Wenatchee World - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
The man who has been the Grant County PUD's interim general manager for the last six months now has the job for real.
Commissioners agreed Monday to appoint Tony Webb, 51, to lead the utility, effective Feb. 11. Commissioners will officially vote on Webb's appointment and his proposed salary of $245,000 that same date.
"I am ready to work with our community and our employees to keep the momentum we've built these past several months," Webb said in a news release Monday.
He was named interim general manager in July after former manager Tim Culbertson was fired for having a romantic relationship with a female PUD employee while separated from his wife.
Webb has worked at the PUD since 1990 in supervisory posts that include customer service, human resources and assistant general manager.
He has degrees in communications and business administration from Eastern Washington University.
PUD spokesman Tom Stredwick said Monday that commissioners received more than 50 applications for the job.
