BRIEF: Hampton police seek two in Sunday night robbery
HAMPTON, Jan 29, 2013 (Daily Press (Newport News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Police are looking two men they say robbed a person Sunday night in the 300 block of Ireland Street.
Officers were dispatched to the area shortly before 8 p.m. after someone reported they had been robbed.
An investigation revealed that two men had approached the victim -- which included one who displayed a gun -- and demanded personal items, said Sgt. Jason Price, spokesman for the Hampton Police Division, in an e-mail. The men took the victim's wallet and an undisclosed amount of cash. A cell phone and laptop computer was also stolen, Price said.
The men then fled the area on foot in the direction of Pembroke Avenue and Grimes Road. They are believed to be in their 20s and were last seen wearing a grey sweatshirt or hooded jacket with blue jeans.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
