BRIEF: 63-year-old Hampton man robbed at gunpoint
HAMPTON, Jan 29, 2013 (Daily Press (Newport News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
A 63-year-old Hampton man was robbed at gunpoint Friday while walking in the 300 block of South Backriver Road, police said.
The suspect approached the man shortly before 8:30 p.m., brandished a firearm and demanded money, said Sgt. Jason Price, spokesman for the Hampton Police Division, in an e-mail. The assailant then took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the area on foot.
As of Monday afternoon, police had not made any arrests in the robbery, but continued to investigate the incident, Price said.
