The event is a competition for Japanese start-ups, in which small Internet-based companies from Japan get a chance to pitch their innovative ideas and products to hundreds of audience members, including prospective investors. Six teams will be finalists at the SF Japan Night, after competing in Tokyo a month earlier. During that month, SkimaTalk will be providing English-language learning sessions to prep the teams for their pitches in San Francisco.
As a web-based start-up based in the Bay Area and with a deep interest in emerging Japanese businesses, SkimaTalk is honored to be a part of the event. A total of 24 finalist companies have participated in the competition in San Francisco in the past, with half of them receiving funding from investors.
