New video games: 1/29 edition
Jan 29, 2013 (Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
FINALLY, the new Fire Emblem is here. Japan's had it since April last year. Grumble, grumble, mutter, mutter. Granted, it's not out until Monday, but we'll count that in the typical Tuesday-Tuesday release cycle. It's just on the other side of the weekend when we could have all been holed up in our homes playing it, though, so there's that.
Fire Emblem: Awakening
Chrom, the prince of Ylisse, faces off with an army of undead soldiers hellbent on destroying the world. Control him and his faithful soldiers in battle, pairing up characters to build their support level to score additional attacks. A demo is available in the eShop; it seems pretty promising.
Feb. 4: 3DS.
Hitman HD Trilogy
This remaster takes Hitman Contracts, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin and Hitman Blood Money and gives them the HD shine. Play through more than 40 classic missions and see what made Agent 47 the world's deadliest killer.
Jan. 29; PS3, X360.
Company of Heroes 2
Publisher THQ just went under and auctioned off all their IP, so you might want to get this one while the getting's good if you're after a physical copy. I doubt a second printing is in the cards. There's always Steam!
Jan. 31: PC.
Dungeonland
Work your way through this co-op hack-n-slash set in a Medieval theme park run by the Dungeon Master. Or take over and throw killer rabbits, exploding frogs or giant fans at would-be heroes. Points for creativity on this one, I decree.
Jan. 29: PC.
