BPT Products recalls 213 pounds of beef jerky products

The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service, or FSIS, has announced that BPT Products Inc. is recalling approximately 213 pounds of beef jerky products that contain wheat, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label.
The following products are subject to USDA recall: 1.5-oz. bags of 'Cow Chips Dried Beef Original Flavor'; 1.5-oz. bags of 'Cow Chips Dried Beef Adobo Flavor'; 1.5-oz. bags of 'Cow Chips Dried Beef Adobo Flavor Hot Habanero'; 1.5-oz. bags of 'Carne Seca Nativo Dried Beef Adobo Flavor'; and 1.5-oz. bags of 'Carne Seca Nativo Dried Beef Adobo Flavor Hot Habanero'.
The recalled product bears the establishment number "Est. 40357M" inside the USDA mark of inspection, and a "sell by" date between "2/16/2013" and "7/18/2013" appears on a sticker on the back of each bag. The products were produced on various dates between August 16, 2012 and January 18, 2013 and were distributed for retail sale in El Paso, Texas.
FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions associated with consumption of these products.
