You can't blame the online giant for all the retail sector's woes, but it hasn't helped. Yet Amazon, and other web successes, wouldn't be rolling in it if customers didn't like what it does.
A huge range, cheap, home delivery - or out of stock, high prices and costly parking It's a no-brainer for many.
But online retailing risks ripping the heart out of out struggling towns.
And remember Amazon still has big questions to ask about its tax affairs.
We can't hold back the tide but we can support the high street, too.
