BRIEF: Water main break leaves Glen Carbon residents high and dry

Jan 30, 2013 (Belleville News-Democrat - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Glen Carbon residents are without water Wednesday while crews work to repair a water main break.

Residents are under a boil order until further notice. The boil order was issued by village officials as a precautionary measure due to the possibility that contaminated water may have entered the water distribution system as a result of loss of water pressure due to the break.

All village water customers should boil water for five minutes prior to using for drinking or food preparation. Any ice cubes made after the water main break while the boil order is in effect should be discarded.

For more information, contact the village at 288-1200.
