BRIEF: SECCA sponsors mobile device contest
Jan 31, 2013 (Winston-Salem Journal - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
The Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art is offering a mobile-phone film competition called Mobile Media Mini Movies (M4).
Entries will be accepted until March 31, and there will be a competition finale event at 7 p.m. April 11 at SECCA, 750 Marguerite Drive.
The competition is open to anyone in North Carolina. Films must be created on a mobile device such as a cell phone, mp3 player or tablet.
The categories are narrative, documentary, experimental, or "texture and tacility," a special theme for the contest, inspired by artist Jennifer West.
One winner will be selected in each category, and will receive a one-on-one consultation and lunch with a film expert from Wake Forest University, UNC School of the Arts or the film industry.
Each person is limited to one entry. Films must be 120 seconds or shorter and must be followed with a screen shot listing the name of the person entering it, a phone number and email address.
Films should be uploaded to http://vimeo.com/groups/m4competition.
For a complete list of rules, see www.secca.com.
