Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP Announces the Addition of Leading Litigators Barry Bohrer and Lisa Prager
NEW YORK --(Business Wire)--
Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP ("SRZ") is pleased to announce that Barry A.
Bohrer and Lisa A. Prager will join the firm as partners and Lara
Covington as special counsel in the litigation practice. The group's
arrival from Morvillo, Abramowitz, Grand, Iason, Anello & Bohrer, P.C.
brings further depth to SRZ's 100-person litigation and enforcement
practice.

Mr. Bohrer, well known for his experience in handling white collar,
complex civil and securities enforcement matters, will reside in the New
York office. Ms. Prager, who has extensive expertise in government
investigations and enforcement actions relating to the Foreign Corrupt
Practices Act ("FCPA"), anti-money laundering laws and export controls,
served as head of the Morvillo Abramowitz D.C. office. At SRZ, she will
split her time between D.C. and New York. Ms. Covington, who practices
in the areas of FCPA, export controls and government contract issues
will be based in the D.C. office.

Mr. Bohrer's practice focuses on the areas of white collar criminal
defense and complex civil litigation in federal and state courts for
individual and corporate clients. He also maintains an active trial and
appellate practice. He has successfully defended clients, including
major corporations, financial institutions, political figures, corporate
executives and individuals, professionals and prominent aw firms, in a
wide variety of high-profile and complex cases, jury trials, regulatory
actions and investigations. Mr. Bohrer regularly represents clients in
matters pertaining to securities and commodities litigation and
regulatory enforcement; other forms of financial fraud; antitrust
litigation; and allegations of environmental offenses. He frequently
represents clients in parallel enforcement proceedings involving the
U.S. Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission and
the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
Mr. Bohrer's experience includes positions as Assistant U.S. Attorney,
Southern District of New York; Chief Appellate Attorney, Southern
District of New York; and Chief of the Major Crimes Unit, Southern
District of New York. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial
Lawyers, former President of the New York Council of Defense Lawyers,
and Chair of the Executive Committees of The Fund for Modern Courts and
Committee for Modern Courts, non-profit organizations dedicated to
judicial reform in New York State. He served on the Board of Directors
of the Legal Aid Society and received awards in 2005 and 2006 for
Outstanding Pro Bono Service for his advocacy. Mr. Bohrer is also a
member of the New York City Bar Association (past member of the Criminal
Law Committee) and the New York State and American Bar Associations
(Criminal Justice and Litigation Sections). He received his J.D. from
New York University School of Law and a B.A. from Duke University.
Lisa A. Prager, Partner
Ms. Prager focuses her practice on the areas of government
investigations and enforcement actions relating to the FCPA, U.S. export
controls and economic sanctions laws, anti-money laundering laws, the
Dodd-Frank Act's whistleblower provisions and government contracts
matters. She represents clients before multiple U.S. enforcement
agencies and bodies, such as the Department of Justice, Department of
Commerce, Department of State, Department of the Treasury's Office of
Foreign Assets Control and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
She conducts extensive internal investigations on behalf of
multinational corporations and has represented them and their boards in
FCPA and export control matters involving international issues. In
connection with these investigations, she provides advice to general
counsels and senior management regarding company practices, remedial
measures such as compliance program enhancements and disciplinary action
for company employees, and settlement options.
Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Prager was an Assistant U.S.
Attorney for the District of Columbia and Acting Assistant Secretary and
Deputy Assistant Secretary for Export Enforcement at the U.S. Department
of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security. She graduated, magna
cum laude, from Western New England College School of Law and holds
a B.A. from Yale University.
Lara Covington, Special Counsel
Ms. Covington's practice focuses on the representation of individuals
and corporations in connection with investigations and enforcement
actions involving the FCPA, U.S. export controls and government contract
issues. She has considerable experience handling FCPA investigations on
behalf of multinational corporations and has conducted investigations
involving issues in China, India, Poland, Nigeria, Russia, United Arab
Emirates and Vietnam. She also creates and enhances corporate
anti-corruption compliance programs and conducts third-party and M&A due
diligence.
Ms. Covington graduated, cum laude, from George Washington
University Law School and has a B.A. from the University of Virginia.
