Hagens Berman Investigates Infinity Auto Insurance Company
PHOENIX --(Business Wire)--
Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP, a law firm with extensive experience in
court cases involving the insurance industry, is investigating whether
Infinity Auto Insurance Company, a subsidiary of Infinity Property &
Casualty Corporation (NASDAQ: IPCC) failed to pay California
policyholders for claims after they were injured by an uninsured or
underinsured driver while a pedestrian or occupying a car other than
their insured vehicle.
The firm's investigation centers on Infinity Auto Insurance Company, a
provider of car insurance throughout the state of California. Attorneys
believe that California law and the company's insurance policies require
the payment of claims for policyholders or their live-in family members
who are injured by uninsured or underinsured drivers, even when the
policyholders are not in their vehicle.
However, attorneys believe that Infinity has, at least in some cases,
denied legitimate claims made by policyholders injured by unnsured or
underinsured drivers while not in their insured vehicle.
Hagens Berman Partner Robert B. Carey noted, "Under California law,
UM/UIM is a personal coverage, which means it covers policyholders and
their family members wherever they are when hit by another car. Yet it
seems Infinity is denying the claims of thousands of policyholders who
are paying for coverage they are not receiving, coverage required by
law."
Hagens Berman is continuing to investigate this matter and encourages
California Infinity policyholders who were injured outside of their
vehicle by an underinsured or uninsured driver to contact the firm. You
