FBI: Ceres man had more than 100,000 images of child porn
CERES, Feb 01, 2013 (The Modesto Bee - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
A Ceres man was arrested Friday on suspicion of possessing more than 100,000 images of child pornography, authorities said.
George Pires, 52, was taken into custody by FBI agents and Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department detectives.
The investigation began last October when deputies responded to a 911 call in the 1700 block of E. Service Road. Deputies had received a tip that Pires was in possession of child porn, according to Sgt. Anthony Bejaran of the sheriff's department.
Detectives obtained a search warrant and seized photos and several computers, Bejaran said. Forensic analysis discovered thousands of images.
Because of the large quantity, detectives contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Sacramento Division for help in the investigation.
Pires is facing federal charges of possession and manufacture of child pornography.
Sheriff's detectives are looking for potential victims of child molestation. If you know any victims or can provide information regarding this investigation please contact Det.
