Armed men rob Del City bank
DEL CITY, Feb 02, 2013 (The Oklahoman - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Two armed men robbed a bank Saturday morning, and authorities think the robbers are responsible for other bank holdups in the area.
Two men pointing handguns entered BancFirst, 4200 S Sunnylane Rd. about 9:30 a.m. and yelled at customers to put their hands up. One of the men kept his gun pointed at customers and bank employees while the other demanded money from a teller and forced a bank customer to hand over his wallet, the FBI reported.
One of the robbers stuffed money into a white plastic bag, and then both of them left the bank. No one was injured during the robbery.
The robbers are described as:
--A thin black man in his early 20s, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, who was wearing all black clothing, black tennis shoes with white soles, a black ski mask, and carrying a dark-colored revolver.
--A black man between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a black hooded jacket, a gray shirt, a multicolored knit cap, dark jeans, black tennis shoes and carrying a semi-automatic handgun.
The description of the robbers and the way the bank robbed is similar to two robberies at a nearby Bank of Oklahoma branch on Jan. 24 and Jan. 18, the FBI said.
Stolen cars were used in those robberies as well as the robbery Saturday. A stolen vehicle believed to have been used by the suspects was found near the Sunnyview Apartment complex at SE 44 east of S Sunnylane Road.
Anyone with information about the robbery or robbers asked to call the FBI at 290-7770.
