Feb 02, 2013 (The Arizona Daily Star - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Tucson police are looking for a man who robbed a taxi driver at knifepoint Jan. 19.
Michael Pitts, 37, is wanted on a felony warrant for armed robbery. He is suspected of flagging down the cab in the 200 block of North Fourth Avenue at about 9:15 p.m. and asking for a ride to North Ninth Avenue and West Lee Street.
When the cab arrived at the destination, police said Pitts "put a knife to the cab driver's ribs and demanded money."
Pitts was given an undisclosed amount of cash and ran away.
"Detectives are looking into the possibility of Mr. Pitts being involved in several other highway and business robberies in the Tucson area," Tucson Police department officials said in a press release.
Pitts is described as a 5-foot-8, 180 pounds black man, with brown eyes, a goatee and tattoos on both arms.
