BRIEF: Country's Rhett to perform
Feb 03, 2013 (Inland Valley Daily Bulletin - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Country music's Thomas Rhett, known for the late 2012 song "Something To Do With My Hands," will perform Tuesday at the Brandin' Iron in San Bernardino.
Rhett, of Valdosta, Georgia, is country singer Rhett Akins' son and has an Extended Play album out that also features the song "Beer With Jesus."
On his website at thomasrhett.com, Rhett said he learned his craft playing a blend of country, hip-hop and rock fraternity parties in Tennessee and Athens, Ga.
"Frat parties can be awesome or tragic," he said. "Those dudes just get so drunk, and they get on stage with you and take the mic from you. All of a sudden, you're at the back of the stage and just playing so they can have a good time."
After Rhett, upcoming concerts at the Brandin' Iron include Casey James on March 12 and Love And Theft on April 9.
