Arista Networks Receives Certification for Rackspace Private Cloud [Professional Services Close - Up]
(Professional Services Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Arista Networks announced that its Arista 7050 Series switches have achieved quality assurance and certification for Rackspace Private Cloud.
According to a release, the Arista 7050 Series enables wire speed, 10 GbE and 40 GbE switching, powered by Arista (Extensible Operating System) EOS for software defined networking applications. As a part of The Rackspace Open Cloud platform, the company launched the Rackspace Private Cloud Software in August 2012, with thousands of organizations in over 125 countries spanning all continents downloading the product.
The Arista 7050 Series provides the performance and scalability for 10GbE data centers, big data, IP Storage applications and dense virtualization environments with performance and high availability. This designation indicates that after a detailed automated testing and validation process, the Arista 7050 Series achieved readiness for building OpenStack-powered private clouds based on Rackspace Private Cloud Software, and can be found on http://rackspace.com/ cloud/private/architecture/
"We are pleased that the Arista 7050 Series qualifies for the Rackspace Private Cloud Reference Architecture mass-compute with external storage, signifying to customers that it has met specific integration and interoperability standards and works effectively with Rackspace Private Cloud Software, which speeds time to value within customer environments," said Paul Rad, vice president, Private Cloud, Rackspace.
Arista EOS's highly modular software design provides integration into Rackspace Private Cloud Software, while still providing data center networking services and delivering security, stability and reliability. This includes fault recovery and incremental software updates on a fine-grain process basis without affecting the state of the system.
