LUNA® Asks Women to Ditch the Fad Diet and Focus on Positive Eating in New Webisode Series
EMERYVILLE, Calif. --(Business Wire)--
LUNA®, the makers of the Whole Nutrition Bar for Women®, today launched
the first in a series of six webisodes called "Debunking the Diet" to
weigh in on current eating trends, and spark an ongoing and honest
conversation with women about food and nutrition. The webisode series is
kicking off a larger "Feed Your Strength" campaign that invites women to
start making healthier food choices that nourish the body and mind, so
they can discover their inner strength. With sound, relatable nutrition
advice and tips from LUNA's in-house nutritionist Tara DelloIacono
Thies, the vignettes hosted by actress and comedian Erin Gibson tackle
diet myths and nutrition misconceptions uncovered from humorous, women
on-the-street conversations.
"LUNA wants to inspire women to trust their gut in their food choices,
and be as proud of what they put into their bodies as what they put on
them," says Rosa Compean, brand director for LUNA. "Women are bombarded
with restrictive messages about what to eat and when to eat. LUNA is
championing moderation, not deprivation - and hopes women can ditch the
diet and trust themselves."
LUNA's nutrition philosophy is gounded in balanced nutrition and
honoring women's cravings. Making positive food choices doesn't have to
be confusing or stressful. LUNA takes a common sense approach like
eating small, frequent meals to provide the nutrients women need and
maintain energy throughout the day. The nutrition advice from the
webisodes flips dieting on its head and takes women back to the basics
with food and nutrition.
The first "Debunking the Diet" webisode will go live today and can be
found on lunabar.com. New webisodes will continue to roll out every two
weeks and focus on topics such as skipping meals, carbohydrate myths,
eating after 8 p.m. and more. Women can join the conversation online by
participating in the "Feed Your Strength" Webisode Facebook (News - Alert) contest,
which will offer participants a chance to win a year's supply of LUNA
bars, as well as a community forum to share what feeds their strength.
