Product Launch Platform, Daily Grommet Works with San Francisco and Brazilian Based Company, Escama, to Launch Chica Rosa Clutch

Daily Grommet, an online shopping site and product launch platform for innovative and undiscovered products has partnered with San Francisco and Brazilian based company, Escama, to launch the Chica Rosa clutch. These unique clutches are elegant pieces made from over 200 recycled aluminum pull tabs from soda cans and are handcrafted in Brazil.
The purses are made outside of Brasília, Brazil, where the founder of Escama Studio, Andy Krumolz, saw artists crocheting with pull tabs. He was taken by their work and inspired to launch a social enterprise that uses environmentally responsible materials and enables the Brazilian women and men in the community to earn a fair wage in a cooperative environment. Each piece comes with a tag signed by the person who made it.
The word “Escama” means “fish scales” in Portuguese, and Andy chose the name because the studio’s signature crocheted accessories appear as if they're made from shimmering, sinuous fish scales. The look is unusual and elegant -- an incredible transformation from humble pull tabs to head-turning, socially responsible works of art.
