BRIEF: The Postal Service to put on concert in San Luis Obispo

Feb 06, 2013 (The Tribune (San Luis Obispo - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Electro-pop duo The Postal Service is making a stop in San Luis Obispo this spring.

Best known for the songs "Such Great Heights" and "We Will Become Silhouettes," the band consists of vocalist Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie and producer Jimmy Tamborello of Figurine and Headset. They'll be joined on tour by Laura Burhenn and Jenny Lewis, and opening act Baths.


The Postal Service is heading on tour for the first time since 2003, when the band's debut album "Give Up" was released. "Give Up" is being reissued this April in a deluxe 10th anniversary edition.

The Postal Service is slated to perform April 12 at the Alex Madonna Expo Center in San Luis Obispo.

General admission tickets, which cost $32, go on sale Friday. They can be purchased in person at Boo Boo Records in downtown San Luis Obispo, by phone at 888-825-5484 or online at www.vallitix.com.
