Suspects sought in Whataburger scrape
Feb 09, 2013 (Odessa American - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
An 18-year-old Odessa man told police he was waiting in the drive-thru lane of Whataburger on Thursday night when a vehicle bumped his 2012 Chevrolet Silverado from behind.
The man got out of the truck to confront the people inside that vehicle, which was described only as black and new by police. But an argument broke out, and then a fight ensued that spread to the inside of the restaurant, at 3716 Andrews Hwy, according to a police report. Police reported three suspects involved in the assault: all white men, one wearing jeans and a black long sleeve shirt, a second wearing a black short sleeve shirt and a third wearing a black shirt with colored graphics and a black jacket.
A Whataburger manager told all parties involved to leave, but the 18-year-old discovered his truck was gone. He had also suffered cuts to his hands and face, the report stated. Police consider the other men as suspects in the robbery, last seen leaving in the black vehicle.
The 18-year-old man's vehicle was recovered in the 8000 block of North Golder Avenue. It was unclear Friday whether he ever got his food.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Odessa Crime Stoppers at 432-333-8477.
