BRIEF: Entry to Qutab Minar not impressive, say tourists

Feb 11, 2013 (Hindustan Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) charges a nominal fee for video cameras and none for still cameras, provided no commercial photography is done.

"But the ASI is still confused about video and still cameras. If I am coming here with family, I am not going to do a commercial film. We want good memories to take back," said Edward Vinod, originally from Vishakhapatnam, now settled in Sydney, Australia.

"Moreover, it would be free word-of-mouth publicity for the ASI and the monument," said Vinod.

"It starts with a no-show entry. There is nothing to indicate that we are being led to such a beautiful premises. Entry is most important to attract tourists." Apart from these minor glitches, the first-aid box was also found absent here.
