BRIEF: Photos, video of suspects in fatal Malden shooting released

Feb 15, 2013 (Boston Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Authorities investigating last month's murder of a popular Malden skateboard shop owner have released photos and a video of two men they say were "involved" in the brazen daytime shooting and are asking for the public's help in identifying them.

Authorities said Shawn Clark, 39, a Marine Corps veteran and father of two children, was shot multiple times in front of his Main Street shop, Patriot Skateboards, at about 12:44 p.m., on Jan. 29.

The shooting followed what police called a "confrontation" inside the store. Authorities said the two suspects ran off down Edmond Street after opening fire on Clark on the sidewalk just outside the store's front door. He was later pronounced dead at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Authorities, in a statement released today, say the two men appear to be dark-skinned males wearing dark clothing, one of whom had a handgun. One of those suspects was described as more than 6 feet tall, while the other is between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot, authorities said.

Clark had served three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan before saving enough money to open his shop, according to family.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 781-897-6600 or Malden police at 781-397-7171.
